Parent Questionnaires in Screening for Developmental Language Disorder Among Bilingual Children in Speech and Language Clinics

Screening for Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) among bilingual children in Speech and Clinics is challenged by the use of Societal (SL) monolingual norms absence knowledge about children’s performance Home (HL) leading to over diagnosis DLD children. The current study examined how parents’ questionnaire can contribute a more accurate clinical protocol that help mitigate difficulties disentangle impact bilingualism from DLD. Parents 75 (ages 48–82 months) participated this study. Forty six were referred Pathologists (SLPs) due language (Clinically Referred- CR) 29 never SLP (Non-referred- NR).
